KS Supreme Court Judicial Reform Action Call

Please join me as we hear from Harrison, my friend from AFP, about the current process for selecting Kansas Supreme Court Judges. It is a unique system, but is it the fairest system for all Kansans? We will discuss it and hear about the Judicial Reform AFP is working on. If you agree that reform on this item is needed, we will hear how to help. Unwarranted Screening + Winter Weather Supply Drive

Unwarranted Screening + Winter Weather Supply Drive

Please join me for a special screening of the Wichita Eagle’s documentary, “Unwarranted: The Senseless Death of Journalist Joan Meyer.” A police raid of a small town newspaper in Marion Kansas, and the death of the newspaper's owner a day later, brings worldwide condemnation and attention to attacks on press freedoms in the United States.

This screening is part of a special week where Tallgrass is showing films from their “Kansas” category of their film festival so this screening is also paired with a screening of “The Chronocular Device.” A shadowy figure, upon breaking into an abandoned home, finds a strange device which allows him a glimpse into the home's past.

I will also be set up with a table and will be taking donations for winter weather supplies. I will be taking donations to April “The Crazy Sack Lady” or to the Emergency Winter Shelter. Items needed are cold weather gear (coats, gloves, hats, hot hands) or food items (continental breakfast items, lunch meat, bread, peanut butter, jelly, and fruit).

Get your tickets for the film screening here.
